The
Roll Back
This is a version of the Pilates mat exercise called the roll up using
the specialized pilates apparatus called the Trapeze table, or “Cadillac”.
The bar is attached to the apparatus with springs that allow you to
roll down with resistance, and roll up with assistance. Using the
breath exhalation, contract the abdominal's and imprint each vertebra
onto the table as you roll back through the spine. Reverse movement
on the way up, using the abdominal muscles to curl the body forward.
This can be done lying down using a thera-band hooked across the arches
of the feet for the resistance/assistance effect.

Hanging
Up
Using the top of the Cadillac, and placing the feet into the hanging
swing, this exercise lengthens the spine out, and also builds upper
body strength. The spine is articulated sequentially up for a full
spine arc, and then sequentially placed back down. Pull-ups may be
added at the top position of the exercise.

Wunda
Chair Pike
The pedal of the Wunda chair is spring loaded, giving assistance on
the way up for the Pike position. This exercise requires shoulder
stabilization, and uses the abdominal muscles to pull the body into
the pike position. Using all the Pilates apparatus, a larger and different
range of motion can be used to build strength.

Combo
Stretch
The push through bar on the Cadillac can be used to achieve the teaser
position used in Pilates mat work. The springs are top loaded, and
assist in curling the spine sequentially up, without straining the
lower back. Many people are not strong enough to do “Teaser”
from the mat work, so this is a great way to begin learning the more
difficult exercises, as well as elongating the spine.
